Bold claim! I think The Force Awakens was, it basically took no risks so that feels like a bit of a cheap selection but idk I think being blandly competent was a better choice for them.
I see people posting about THE LAST JEDI and I don't know why, but it's a good reminder that it was the best Star Wars film of the modern age.
Feb 4, 2026 19:24Perhaps no risks, but it managed to introduce a strong trio of brand new good guys, an excellent bad guy, a droid character that was actually cool; connected them to existing characters naturally; had fun flying scenes. All simple things where the prequels had failed spectacularly.
