- Wasn't able to apply for a couple of jobs I wanted because I didn't meet the eligibility requirements, but I did get yelled at while feeding birds with a friend in the park this morning, so I guess that's something. For context, I live in Germany.
- This is a great one from @unbiasthenews.bsky.social As a white person from the American South who now lives in Germany, I've been very surprised by how much pushback (even in what people would call progressive circles) there is to talking about racism here. unbiasthenews.org/if-you-point...
- New one out in @maudlinhouse.bsky.social ! "Having endometriosis and adenomyosis and taking daily hormone replacement therapy for these diseases, which gives you the fun experience of replicating early pregnancy, except it never ends"
- Once a month, I publish of list of short story recommendations from literary magazines. I always only include what is free to read and I try to have a bit of a seasonal bent to the list! substack.com/home/post/p-...
- Lovely read that is about so much more than just writing a novel! From @jaclyndesforges.bsky.social substack.com/home/post/p-...
- Trying to book a doctor's appointment in Berlin, where I live. Can't do it online, but I can do it by fax. Wilkommen to Germany.

- I did to not know that Heathcliff is supposed to be a racialized other in Wuthering Heights! I would've read it a lot sooner if I knew we were delving into all this race and class stuff. So . . . why do we have Jacob Elordi playing him in the Emerald Fennell adaptation?
- I'm finally getting around to reading Wuthering Heights because I want to weigh in on the new adaptation. Emerald Fennell's other films bothered me, particularly given her (very) wealthy background. Am I just now reading Wuthering Heights because I'm being a bit of a hater? Maybe! And what of it?
- Have a listen of this podcast about using your library as an act of resistance from @feministbookclub.bsky.social Loved hearing about one disabled person's experience of having book delivered to her house from her local library! - Thanks so much to @genrepunkmag.bsky.social for publishing this little weirdo! The idea for this piece came from when I had a boyfriend that I found to be condescending and a know-it-all. So, I started making up historical "facts" to tell him. Apologies for my contribution to the misinformation age
