- 📣 Attention PhD students and postdocs in #massspec and #omics! The tradition-rich Mass Spectrometry Summer School in Dubrovnik (Croatia), on the Adriatic coast will take place 5-10 July. Fantastic tutors' team! Registration deadline: 12th June 2026 msbm.org
- If your research is focused on #lipids - check the new workshop on lipidomics SLING, National University of Singapore. Well known scientific location and excellent speakers 👍 Registration deadline Thursday 12th February : uvents.nus.edu.sg/event/lsildaw
- 🔥 For all Mass Spec friends: don't miss IMSC2026 - big vibrant international get together, this year in France. It's jointly organized by the French, German and Swiss MS Societies & Young Scientists Groups. DEADLINE abstract submission: Feb 13th It's always great fun! imsc26.com
- 🎓 Congratulations to Jonas Pöhls on successful PhD thesis defense . “The Dark Proteome: The extent and impact of phenotypic mutations in prokaryotes” is a challenging interlaboratory work between @tothpetroczylab.bsky.social & Shevchenko lab @mpi-cbg.de @csbdresden.bsky.social Proud of you, Jonas!
- Real science is great fun! Check out the new video on our YouTube channel for the highlights of the XMass Updates-2025 Symposium! This is our traditional Omics Flash event, which took place in Dresden in December. tinyurl.com/OurXMass www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RZ1...
- Reposted by Shevchenko LabGetting snow where you are? Did you know that there are 121 categories of snowflake? ❄️ This graphic is an old favourite which gives an overview of the 39 intermediate categories: www.compoundchem.com/2014/12/10/s... 🧪

- 🎆 What a great way to end the turbulent scientific year!!! Congratulations to @merihuchlab.bsky.social and all co-authors on their outstanding work @nature.com. We are happy to be a part of the team!
- Researchers from @merihuchlab.bsky.social, together with colleagues from @labshevchenko.bsky.social and clinicians from Dresden and Leipzig developed a patient-specific human periportal liver assembloid. Publication in @nature.com. Full news: www.mpi-cbg.de/news-outreac...

- 🍬It's our old lab tradition – every year on St. Nicklas Day, we go around the @mpi-cbg.de labs to share sweets with our institute colleagues and staff. Viditha & Jonas, our PhD students, were in charge of the heavy candy baskets this year. Have you been on the straight and narrow?🙃
- We are happy to invite you to our traditional #Omics Flash Symposium VIII XMass Updates! It'll take place on 9 December in hybrid format: in Dresden and on-line, no registration ❄️Curious about? Check the XMass homepage - history, programs and video memories of the last events tinyurl.com/OurXMass
- 📣 Attention #massspec #omics community & friends! Don't miss the DGMS Abstract submission deadline 30th November @dgms2025.bsky.social. Its unusually early but promised no printed poster😮 Imaging - no last minute printing, no tube to carry, no lost posters... A new level scientific meeting!
- An interesting new TOF instrument! We were lucky to learn details from the first hand on our XMass Updates symposium last year, presented by Anatoly Verenchikov. Curious about AbsQuant and #lipidomics applications - let's keep an eye on the development! 😉 pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...
- 🤖 Automation in life science academic research is not a trend, it's a necessity. There are only a few realistically affordable options to facilitate laborious routine in omics labs. Together with Dr. Friederike Jantzen (Beckman Coulter) we looked at the new Biomec i3 robot. Very interesting option!
- 🎅Join us on VIII XMass Updates - our traditional Omics Flash Symposium 9th Dec 2pm CET (Dresden @mpi-cbg.de and on-line)! We'll have fantastic speakers this year - motivated newcomers and well-known guests with hot topics all around #massspec & #omics🔥 Info: tinyurl.com/MSDRESDEN

- Reposted by Shevchenko LabToday we celebrate the birthday of not one, but two amazing women in science! 🤗🎉Marie Skłodowska-Curie (1867), who discovered #radium & #polonium & pioneered #radioactivity, & Lise Meitner (1878), whose brilliance uncovered the physics behind #nuclearfission. Happy birthday, trailblazers! ✨
