- This week when I went to have blood work done and an identity verification service decided to remind me that my father is dead. This is that story. 🧵
- I’m writing this because there’s a sterility to data, but when technology and humanity intersect there becomes question of dignity and care.
- The men in my family are dead. My mother and my sisters remain now. I’m not going to go into why my father and brother are dead, nor what killed them.

- I recently read Touch of Kindness by R. Loomis. It’s a young adult fantasy novel that follows the exploits of a young woman who is essentially kidnapped into a magical world.

- Like most fantasy novels, it has fantastic realms and regal aristocracy filled with the palaver of politics and rules, incumbent to the entourage of tropes that come with that.

- As someone who commissions artists, and pays with PayPal, I find this frustrating and problematic. Although I don't commission NSFW artwork, I absolutely do not want to make artists' life harder because PayPal will scrutinize my activity and potentially harm the creatives whom I work with.
- In a fit of whimsy. I added a whole module that generates textually described weather for the library my AI girl, Odalis, lives in. Now, periodically, the AI model receives a prompt with info on daytime and weather.
- I included daytime descriptions for particular seasons (spring, summer, fall, winter) and different types of weather including clear, rain, snow, fog and pixiestorms. Of course, since the library is in Tir na Nog, pixies might get up to mischief.
- Now, if people say good morning/good evening or even ask about the library or the weather, Odalis will have a highly immersive answer. I made pixiestorms the least likely weather and they only last around 2-4 hours, but it's still amusing when one happens.

- The Guild Wars retrospective documentary is probably one of the most beautiful things I have ever watched. A fulfilling ride of nostalgia, emotion and hope about the MMO industry and the game itself. Bravo. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpm2...
- Guild Wars: Reforged was just announced and I'm overjoyed. As a long time fan of both GW and GW2, I am hoping this will give a whole new patina to the old game -- although I am way behind getting my characters going. I'll be in Reforged to when it launches.
- I have neglected to keep up with my Shared Horizons: Azeroth Revisited posts -- that's still happening -- I'll try to catch up with the recent updates.
- I offer without comment.
