- In all the discussion about how to prevent all the flooding, what is to be done about the flooding, who is to blame for all the flooding, why aren't we talking more about the problem of insurance. This is definitely somewhere policy interventions would be valuable - and necessary. #speirgorm

- As climate change increases flooding risks for everyone, the insurance system will need substantial oversight and intervention. It should be made illegal to refuse people insurance for flood risks.
- I write this as a Dub who continually gets rejected for insurance - and cannot get flood or subsidence when they do offer it to me - all because the drains around here are inadequate. This is despite having robust defences built into my house. It will be much worse for those built on floodplains.
- Reposted by Kylie JarrettHaving served on the editorial advisory board for this book, I’ve seen firsthand the depth of insight it offers. This is a foundational text and a must-read for everyone in the field.

- Because I am going to bed soon (going out on NYE is for suckers), I wish everyone a rich and fulfiling 2026. And solidarity with everyone as we continue to fight back the dark forces of fascism, racism, misogyny, and trans- and homo-phobia (I could go on with this list, sadly).
