Oh, and for everyone who has ever brought it up, I was able to speak with some people in my cat club about freely licensing my cat art push my local cat clubs away from using AI artwork.
Please don't complain to me, personally, when you see it being used. I'm trying to lose money to stop it.👍
This might seem like a weird post, but every single time I've said I'm at a cat show and share the often AI generated info posters I have zero creative involvement in, I get talked down to as if I have never been incredibly vocal against AI usage. It's a difficult fight amongst non-artists.
Pulling aside the folk who run these shows as their weird hobby and yelling at them about AI use sure won't fix it. They don't really have the budgets to pay actual creatives 90% of the time, so, instead, I'm going to freely give some of my work away for indefinite use. Hope it doesn't backfire 🤷♀️
Feb 2, 2026 18:44I don't think the lack of budget is a good excuse to use AI, but I point it out to say "don't do this" isn't helpful without offering an alternative. I've been thinking about what a good alternative is, and it's just making sure they have access to art. I have a lot of art. 🤷♀️
