- Reposted by kevin nyeHi everyone! We’ve been super busy delivering meals the past two weeks- the extreme cold has made this more necessary than ever. MIWRC has been operating as an emergency warning shelter for most of the month and we’ve been really fortunate to help keep hot meals available there for people in need.
- I’m so proud of how my Minneapolis neighbors are showing up, and how those around the country are empowering us with donations, encouragement and prayers. Don’t let up! We will win!
- Reposted by kevin nyeThis is one of the stories I've tried to convey for a while now: The Trump administration and its allies have long invoked faith to justify policies, appeal to certain groups, etc. But the president's religious critics have *also* long been numerous, and increasingly loud.

- One thing that everyone outside of Minneapolis needs to know is how incredibly useless Mayor Frey and Governor Walz have been in light of what we’re facing, and it’s really frustrating to see how many of yall are falling for their sound-byte “solidarity”.
- Reposted by kevin nyeHello community! We are asking for more support for this fundraiser. Due to the extreme cold expected to linger in the Twin Cities for the next several days, we are seeing a huge need to help provide hot meals to unhoused people. Please help us continue to support our immigrant businesses!
- The reason that Mayor Frey and Governor Walz can’t muster much more than selective outrage is because there’s nothing you can say about ICE that isn’t also true of the Minneapolis Police Department, who both swore allegiance to against pervasive evidence of corruption and rights violations.
- Thinking about becoming an ICE chaplain so I can just yell “REPENT!” and “Woe to you evildoers!” at them all day.
- Hey folks: we’re supporting South Minneapolis latino-owned businesses and the unhoused at the same time—buying breakfast burritos from local taquerias to distribute to unsheltered folks. Help us help each other! Venmo: @ Kevin-nye-3 Cashapp: $Revkev Please donate and/or signal boost!

- Still plenty of room on my launch team! You'll read the book early and get to participate in weekly Zoom meetings with me to discuss and go deeper. Don't miss this! We'll start in January! forms.gle/23A1noAjBXCC...
- OH NO! You forgot to get that important person a Christmas present!! Most things won’t ship in time! There’s no time to go to a store! Fear not! Great news! “Grace Can Lead Us Home: A Christian Call to End Homelessness” is less than $10, and in most places ships OVERNIGHT. Christmas saved.
- Friends, could you help saving lives go viral? Me and @izzzzzzyyyyyy.bsky.social are hosting a virtual Narcan training this Saturday at 6:30pm CT. Overdoses spike around the Holidays, and this training empowers anyone to help. Here is the link to RSVP:
- I'm putting together a team. Join the Launch Team for my forthcoming book, "Hope for the Mission: Getting It Right in the Call to End Homelessness". We won't start our read-through until after the Holidays, but we need to start assembling now. Link if interested: forms.gle/eEUSR4Y4mphn...
- Rian Johnson made a movie just for me and I will not hear otherwise.
- A good Advent lesson comes from the story of Zechariah and Elizabeth. The lesson, of course, is that men should shut up more so that women can tell us what God is like.
- Mary did you know? That God fills the hungry with good things and sends the rich away empty? Mary knew that. Do we? (Art by @benwildflower.com)
- do you think the adults in daniel tiger's neighborhood ever sing the songs passive aggressively to each other? like if queen sara wore white to a wedding, would mom tiger and henrietta pussycat be like "think about what you're gonna do then pick the clothes that are RIGHT 🤔 FOR 😐 YOU 🤨"

- If you didn’t cry the first time you heard this chorus, are you even alive?
- When we deny people shelter and basic living, predators will use it as bait. 1 in 5 runaway and homeless youth have experienced trafficking, especially high amongst (but not exclusive to) women. If you care about human and child trafficking, start caring about homelessness.
- Love refuses to criminalize. These shirts by my friend @izzzzzzyyyyyy.bsky.social say it all. She has a limited first run on her Etsy, so grab one while you can. Homemade on thrifted shirts. www.etsy.com/shop/izzydra...
- Single Payer could have fixed all of this. Dems’ love of insurance companies allows for this lie to have legs.
- I’m in NY today hearing a lot of excitement about Mamdani, but my heart (and my early vote!) is back in Minneapolis where we’re anticipating a new mayor of our own. Starting packing, Jacob.
- Strand in NYC now has a signed copy of my book, only $10 - GO GET IT NYC!

- I consistently use a candidate's views on homelessness to determine how I will vote in local elections. Not because homelessness is the only important issue, but because it serves as a litmus test for so much of what matters. My latest: kevinmnye.substack.com/p/why-im-a-p...
- Part 3 in my ongoing series, "How (Not) to Write about Homelessness." People don't "fall" into homelessness, they are pushed. Our stories about homelessness should reflect that, and refuse to allow the pushers to remain invisible. Read more: kevinmnye.substack.com/p/how-not-to...

- can't stop thinking about this verse from Canticle of the Turning, which I only just heard for the first time recently.
- Dedicating my vocation to ending homelessness is not some form of ascetic martyrdom. I'm not sacrificing. I'm not brave. Unhoused people are awesome, actually. They're wise, funny, spiritual, vulnerable people who make my life better. If they're not in your life, you're missing out.

- I'm really proud of this piece I wrote for @sojo.net , which couldn't have released at a more apt time for its subject matter. "No human is expendable, and wherever society’s castoffs forge community is where the gospel finds its most generative soil."
