What lens did you get for AP if you don’t mind me asking. I keep threatening to make the trip to make the trip to the summit of Mauna Kea.
Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II USM. I was going to get the III but after reading the reviews I decided to go with a II since the only real difference was paint.
Thank you for so much for sharing your insights! I really appreciate it. I haven’t been able to devote much time to photography but now that I am semi retired I want to explore the art.
Jan 31, 2026 06:57My pleasure! I'm fully retired as of a little over a year ago but I don't get out as much as I'd like since I took over caregiver duties for my uncle. That said, I'm super excited for the upcoming Milky way season!
Well I went and did it. I just bought the Canon RF200-800mm F6.3-9. I hope I made a good choice. I got it primarily for the moon and some planets, wildlife, and sports. Wish me luck!
Oh shit, look at you! That should be fun and good luck!
Thank you Glen! We live in one of the most beautiful spots on earth, I need to start taking more advantage of it.
