Personal vent about how some prominent people are talking about GT7.
GT Sport's initial vision has ruined the community perspective and none of them can cope they are returning back to form.
We're at a point where GT7 is nearing being the longest title Polyphony Digital has supported with content.
We're definitely in the crossover point where a next installment of the Gran Turismo series is in active development. I also am more likely to think the rumors of them appearing at various events, tracks, taking pictures of cars are not intended to be inclusions for GT7. But for a future title.
The constant complaining about X race car not being included definitely is stemming from a hopeful thought that ficticious specced race cars would continuesly be getting new model years. Which could've been believable with the FIA backing the series had.
Unfortunately the FIA is no longer actively backing the series as a means for competitive racing and this pretty much explains the shift to more and more unique road cars with the ocassional special model to boot. This could even be them buffing the lower tier lineup for a future title.
The competitive racing era of Gran Turismo with Sport and 7's Sport Mode is nearing it's expected end. And the next obvious route for them is to return back to what Gran Turismo has always subtitled itself as, the real driving simulator.
A game where your parents tin can shitbox can be virtually loved, cherished and upgraded as if it was your own. Own rare unusual cars that become iconic series cars. Does this mean there should never be any race cars, absolutely not. But it does mean that a Qashqai gets the priority over a 488 GT3.
