- A few years ago we dreamed about having an automated system in which our animals could live in and train on any behavioral task 24/7 w/o any human intervention. Today, we are very happy to share the Training Village (TV), an open system that can be used to train mice/rats in almost any task (1/4).
- In the TV, 🐭 are happier than before: they live in groups of n~10 in enriched environments with almost zero handling or transportation. And students are also much happier 😊: no monotonous and time-consuming mouse training. No coming to the lab on weekends to control water restriction (2/4).
- I’d like to thanks the entire TV-team for making this dream come true, but particularly to @balmaserrano.bsky.social and Rafa Marín for the continuous and tireless effort over the years. It has been great doing this together (3/4).
- We are now working on the integration of this system with wireless battery-free optogenetics, so that your perturbation experiment can be generating lots of interesting data while you do your favorite activity 🚲⛱️ 📚⚽️. If you want to give it a try, get in touch with us (4/4).
