Feb 2, 2026 18:12Obviously gambling on your phone was always going to drive a certain segment of the population into destitution and madness but I love how seemingly normal and innocuous stuff also creates "whales" who start dumping thousands of dollars into stuff they didn't need five years ago
It's like "whale nature" comes first and then everything from cam girls to food delivery to comic books warp around that inescapable, freakish fact of human nature: whatever you sell, 10% of your customers will ruin their lives buying as much of it as they can
