This week we're dropping off our 18-year-old at college, so there have been a lot of goodbyes. But the toughest was with Jack's 16-year-old brother, D. Here's what they said, through tears, as they hugged each other.
D: I don't know how to be without you.
J: You're better than me. You'll be great.
They didn't say much more than that, but those simple words said a lot.
I've seen them laugh and cry, bicker and collaborate, sometimes fight but always love each other fiercely.
I hope they remember that love and stay connected. My relationship with my big brother gives me some hope of that. 💙
