I've a couple of feeders in my garden. The pigeons have become regulars, hoovering up spilt seed. The feeders get refilled regularly, so that the pigeons now see me as their 'provider'. Pigeons, formally “rock doves” are my absolute favorite bird. They are one of the most intelligent birds on the planet. Their beaks are distinct, the upper is not a hard surface but soft skin which is a sign of higher evolution in birds.

They don't show there intelligence when making nests. The number of young that fall out of or through the bottom of the nest is astonishing .
