- "Eerie Statue", painted all the way back in 2015 for the #Hearthstone League of Explorers expansion. I was really happy with the sense of weight and striding forward in this one.

- Sweet! That's a great combo.
- Here's another old #Hearthstone painting, Aberrant Berserker (the working title was Corrupted Berserker). This is probably one of the most dynamic poses I've ever painted and I was delighted when this ended up as a massive, mural-sized ad on a wall in Australia!

- Assignments are determined by myself or my co-worker, Ryan, although if an artist is interested in illustrating a particular subject, we try to take that into consideration. My goal is always to get great art for the game AND for the artists creating it to have fun!

- That does seem like important information!
- Thanks, Jason. I definitely need to read this!
- Here's another early #Hearthstone (Cobalt Guardian) that remains a personal favorite. I love drawing robots so when presented the opportunity to design and illustrate this one, I was thrilled!

- Thanks, Larry!
- This is a great thread with an important message. I encourage you to read it.
- A “hoax.” I have experienced a curious mix of feelings while having a significant portion of my life’s work in books and the art of my friends distorted and vandalized by post-literate fascists for the last few years. The feelings right now are uniquely awful. www.ed.gov/about/news/p...

- Wow, that was a fast 20 years! Congrats, Matt. You've created an incredible body of Transmissions work and I can't wait to see more.
- The Hegseth confirmation shows that Republican lawmakers have put party over country. They should be ashamed, but I doubt if they are.
- They seem to have left shame in the rear view mirror years ago.
- Available oil painting of the day: "The Taming of the Leviathan", oil on wood panel, 60 x 120 cm, 2015 Please visit my website to see more available paintings: www.kunstkrake.de
- I love this! Great work, Michael.

- That is troubling. What the heck is going on with that con?
- You haven't aged out. You (and creators older than you) are still doing relevant work and you haven't had these issues with arguably the most relevant con in America (SDCC). In all likelihood, it has nothing to do with you and everything to do with whoever is making decisions re: tables at C2E2.

- Fun! I love the chess piece art in particular. Thanks for sharing these!

- Ha! Thanks, Chris. That's kind of you.
- I seem to do a lot of those lately. This seems appropriate. Based on my cat Spike, he never outwardly seemed to crave world dominance as far as I know though.🙀
- Here's an old #Hearthstone painting of an enchanted broom. I love creating anthropomorphic characters. Please share your art of non-human characters and creatures!
- I love it, Christina!

- Yes, I've created over 100 of them over the years. If I recall correctly, my first card was Bellowing Fiend for Tempest, painted in the late '90s. My most recent were Orzhov Basilica and Hardened Scales for Double Masters 2022.

- I love it!
- Here's another early #Hearthstone painting, Son of the Flame, painted back in 2014 or 2015. I really had fun with all the fire and lava in this one. Plus, I always enjoy working with analogous color schemes!

- It looks terrific in black and white!
- Last weekend, I popped into the Art Institute of Chicago to see Hokusai’s masterpiece, “The Great Wave”: www.artic.edu/artworks/246...
- If I remember correctly, this was the first new card I painted for Hearthstone, a decade ago (the game had already reprinted a few images I created for the Warcraft TCG).
- Looking back on it, I pushed both the darks and the textural details too hard for the game. I'd approach it quite differently now but I still like the character and the illustration. Like past work by any artist, it's a snapshot of who I was as an artist at the time.

- Nice! Man, that takes me back. Great poses, Sean, especially the foreshortening on Superman.
- I don't have any new artwork I can share at the moment so here's an old (personal) favorite: Drywhisker Armorer, painted for Hearthstone.

- This resonated: "But the fear, the love-of-money-above-all-else, and the abandonment of that singular goal of making outstanding art, no matter the emotional or financial cost, caused the whole magic web of scaffolding to fall." That appears to be occurring in all of the arts.
