- GDP per capita relative to US fell more under Harper than under J.Trudeau. And despite lower per capita GDP, most indicators confirm higher living standards in Canada: incl. health, equality, hours of work, environment & wages. Per capita GDP does not measure living standards. /6
- The typical Canadian lives better (and 3 yrs longer!) than the typical American. Higher per capita GDP there means nothing to most Americans. The weaponization of this statistic is an attempt to undermine the policy interventions Canada takes to enhance genuine living standards.
