In surprising places like Oklahoma, young people persist. History moves because they refuse silence. Never give up on young people.

- Reposted by DrJessieNYCI understand the reasons why it’s more jarring and consequential to see it happen among billionaires, but the kind of shrugging disinterest or impishly approving encouragement of sexual abuse among Epstein’s circle is the same dynamic that happens in less powerful milieus.
- Reposted by DrJessieNYCMy favorite genre of Epstein emails are powerful people emailing WITH JEFFREY EPSTEIN about how MeToo has gone too far and the woke mob must be stopped.

- Reposted by DrJessieNYCA lot of carceral workers are nonwhite people. Another example of why we need to deal with the racial politics of how people are recruited and encouraged to become carceral workers, and how the pathologizing of nonwhite communities and their “redemption” through carceral service are part of that.

- Reposted by DrJessieNYCso I'm about halfway through my re-read of "the rise and fall of the third reich," world war 2 is about to kick off, and one notable thing is how many times hitler would start off speeches and meetings talking about how badly he/germany had been treated, usually by countries he planned on crushing

- Reposted by DrJessieNYCI need people to understand that it’s not just Epstein, it’s the entire rape culture that existed before and after him at every socioeconomic level. That’s why Epstein, who I’ve never thought was particularly smart or interesting, was able to pull this all off—he recognized how abuse functions

- Reposted by DrJessieNYCIt’s been 8 days and we still don’t know the names of the men who murdered Alex Pretti. DHS must be abolished. No ICE. No palantir surveillance police state. There’s no “fixing” a sociopathic agency designed to trample on our freedoms.
