The GOP loves to tout the positive externalities of low taxes ("we're empowering job creators!"). But they never mention the negative externalities ("we're empowering creeps!").
I had a moment this morning when I realized that all these evil men would just have been depraved internet trolls if we actually taxed the rich.
Feb 3, 2026 11:47Low taxes is an incentive to reduce jobs, not create them. The cost of an employee salary is a 100% tax break to the employer. The higher the employer's taxes, the more incentive to hire more employees.
Also, it's a lie.
Rich people are not job creators and lower taxes doesn't lead to jobs.
Ours is a consumer-driven economy. Consumers are the job creators. And more jobs are only created when consumption rises.
Employers don't add staff just because they have money. They add staff to meet demand.
