- @itschristmastown.bsky.social it’s an ugly arcade, a bug arcade
- “The only good bug is a dead bug” 1997 SEGA Pinball Starship Troopers pinball machine with a Color DMD. The game is pretty uncommon to see on location. No official production numbers exist but I’ve seen estimates of 1,500 units online. Continued… #starshiptroopers #sega #pinball #arcade #90s
- at this point I lack the temerity for hard psychedelics, so if this doesn’t fix or at least defrag me I’m out of ideas

- Reposted by Buddy ToledoRIP Loren Carpenter (1947-2025), who I just learned passed away on December 21 at the age of 78. He worked for the Lucasfilm Computer Graphics Division (where he helped create the Genesis effect for Star Trek 2, and Rescue on Fractalus!). He co-created RenderMan and was chief scientist of Pixar. 🤯
- I am organizing my bookshelves right now and, given my demographic life expectancy, there’s a pretty good argument against me ever needing to acquire another book again

- luckily, our country has a great track record when it comes to regulating arguably-more-harmful-than-useful devices that regularly seem to induce psychosis in their users, so all 50 states will surely introduce some sort of LLM-usage licensing requirement by, I dunno, 2080

- I am temperamentally incapable of toying with LLMs in any but the most anodyne ways—but even that has made it clear to me these are devices that, like a car or a gun, should require a license which ~99% of Americans cannot pass the test for without taking a rigorous and extended course.

- Reposted by Buddy ToledoI was wondering what Mamdani's first executive order would be, and I'm not disappointed by this. He has wiped off the books EVERY Eric Adams executive order issued on or after September 26, 2024, the day Adams was indicted on federal bribery charges.
