Dr. Tom Baker, historian, shared his thoughts on a couple events we can use as modern case studies. A 1963 expulsion due to "smut" published in a literary magazine. (We think the student wrote "shit".) And campus politics trends, leaning into the 70s.
To the surprise of no librarian ever, Tom found a deep historical correspondence of librarians gatekeeping libraries to the detriment of their users...🙄
