I’m extremely disappointed in the decision made by Children’s Minnesota to temporarily pause some gender-affirming care practices starting on February 27, 2026.
Gender-affirming care is evidence-based and life-saving. 1/
This helps create a welcoming environment, reduces depression, addresses mental health concerns and lowers alarming suicide rates.
Unfortunately, the federal government continues to scapegoat trans youth and gender-affirming care. 2/
They continue to threaten critical federal funding for those who support our neighbors.
That’s why it is important for the City of Minneapolis to affirm its commitment to the protection of our neighbors. 3/
Feb 5, 2026 02:20On February 19, 2026, I’m submitting a notice of intent with my colleagues meant to start the legislative process of passing an All-Gender Welcoming City Ordinance 🏳️⚧️. 4/
While the federal government continues to show hate towards our neighbors, it’s important that Minneapolis stands firm in its commitment to protect our trans and gender-nonconforming neighbors.
