- I know everyone gets busy but it drives me crazy when people accept a review invitation & then never submit. I implore you to ask for extensions or let the editor know you can’t do it so they can begin trying to find an alternate. #peerreview 🧪

We provide an updated estimate of the number of buzz pollinated angiosperm species, genera, and families, look at consequences for diversification, number of transitions, and more!
- How many plant species are buzz pollinated? After more than six years in the making, our paper on the convergent evolution of buzz pollinated flowers is out in @journal-evo.bsky.social. Thanks @draverbee.bsky.social @roszenil.bsky.social and all co-authors for your hard work! doi.org/10.1093/evol...

- I always underestimate how long it takes to submit a manuscript. I mean, why would anyone think it takes 2.5 hrs to upload some files? Anyway, let’s celebrate that small win with this orchid pic!
- Just some pretty Cypripedium montanum (mountain lady’s slipper) to brighten your day. 🧪🌱 #orchids

- Reposted by Dr Jasmine JanesJust heard @erc.europa.eu will increase funding for grantees relocating to #Europe. Researchers based in the US or elsewhere in the world, can apply for €1 million beyond the usual max amount to set up a lab or #research team, if scientifically justified. Now to be €2 million. 🧪 #grants #academic
- Excited to say that I will now be a Senior Editor for the Journal of Biogeography (JBI). Love getting back to the roots of phylogeny & phylogeography
- Really proud of the team I am working with at the moment. We attended an ‘ideas lab’ & pulled together a solid set of ideas into something that could help the future of biodiversity in BC. We did it all in the crazy timeframe of two weeks. No matter the outcome, the effort from the team was huge.
- What a massive two weeks. Big grant development & application & final exams. Enjoy this orchid while catching a breath. Dendrobium ‘Frosty Dawn’ #orchids
- In Vancouver for a few days, hanging out with a bunch of genomics folk. Good to see some old friends and some new ones.

- Reference writers, if the guidelines state that gender neutral & non-identifying info be used in the reference, you really need to do this. It helps to remove bias - it’s not just the agency being difficult. #science

- I truly hate not being an administrator of my own computer. As someone working with a lot of different software that constantly changes, requesting every install, which takes days, is insane. Thus, today I work across 3 laptops.

- A solid week of running things in R. I’m not the best with R so I always feel it is a love hate relationship. Should probably try 🐍 but I also feel code-language saturated.
- So fascinating!
