- the biden border bill and choosing to run on a “border patrol endorsed” piece of legislation should go down as not only cowardly and backward thinking but one of the worst strategic political decisions by democrats in recent memory, everyone involved should be out of politics forever

- This is insane. Under absolutely no circumstances should a prof ever discuss the physical appearance of a student in a rec letter! I can’t believe I even have to say that!
- Yale prof David Gelernter defends his letter urging Epstein to hire "v small goodlooking blonde" student by saying that he was "keep[ing] the potential boss's habits in mind." This creep shouldn't be allowed anywhere near students. yaledailynews.com/articles/gel...

- ICE investigators were supposed to investigate the killing of Alex Pretti. Instead, they investigated Alex. Not his killers. With FBI now leading this probe, I’m calling on Kristi Noem and Kash Patel: Remove all ICE agents from this investigation completely.

- The only way Labour can win the next election is by governing well. That might not be enough, but it’s the bare minimum. The questions to be asking about any potential new PM are “what is their agenda and can they achieve it?” Not “do they currently poll well?” Or “can they handle a media round?”

- i am trying not to joke about the Epstein stuff because it's so horrible but there's also this ridiculous element where it's like... discovering Dracula is real, he's taken over human society at the highest levels, he's involved in tons of evil and also he's a huge dipshit

- My actual job description is activist and here’s what I tell people in despair all the time: do not underestimate how much harm you can prevent by being just a little bit annoying.
- This is one reason I keep trying to remind people of the power that we have. That we have *always* had. Not because I’m in denial, but because I know history. I’m no sophisticated intellectual, but I do know we’re going to win even though the bad shit is really terrible right now.

- funny how the man who cost the Washington Post hundreds of thousands in subscriptions by canceling the paper's presidential endorsement—almost certainly the most destructive decision in the history of the paper, if not journalism itself—still has his job
- I don't often wear political t-shirts, but I'm proudly sporting this one today. I'm an immigrant. I teach American (and international!) college students, research the U.S. economy, consult with policymakers, write books, raise my kids, pay taxes, and try to make this a better place.
- Please remember Virginia Giuffre. I’m finding myself at a loss as I think about her final note to the world before she reportedly committed suicide last year. For decades, Giuffre fought to expose the Epstein Network and to ensure survivors were heard. Don’t let her words fall on deaf ears:
- it’s genuinely reassuring to me that this is the most miserable and paranoid person in the entire world

- Weird and almost universal revisionism today. Even at the time, it was pretty clear that Mandelson wasn't appointed *despite* his dodgy links but *because* of them. Trump's Washington is a dirty swamp. Mandelson was deemed a man able to swim in it. This wasn't a secret. Everybody said it out loud.
- Most people are worried about climate change - but most don't hear or talk about regularly. That's why I started my free newsletter Talking Climate. Every week I share good news, not so good news, and what people can do. If you aren't a reader yet, see below. I have 6 different ways to subscribe!
- This is a common misconception, but legalizing apartments everywhere does not force apartments to be built. They will only get built if there’s unmet demand to live in them.
- Donald Trump said he was ‘entitled’ to five more Congressional seats in Texas. He started this redistricting war. He lost, and he’ll lose again in November.
