- it is impossible for mayors or cops to learn positive lessons about protest response because they all have two immovable beliefs: 1. it is evil and childish to hold police officers accountable for violent acts 2. cops must be present at all times during protests
- The lesson Frey and Walz were supposed to learn in 2020 was that sending riot police to a peaceful protest creates a confrontation that results in some dipshit cops shooting people in the eye with a gas canister which then we have to goddamn pay for in settlements while also our city burns.
