  • A question came to my mind that I'd like to ask folks how they feel in regard to WG and sequences in comic format. Do people enjoy larger changes in weight between panels, or smaller changes? Would you prefer if your character gained 10 pounds or 100 pounds between panels x and y?

  • Maybe this a very silly question, but comics are VERY powerful tools in utilization of time. They can extend a period of minutes for pages and pages, or through years of time by one panel. To ground this concept, consider an individual gaining 150 pounds in a single night vs a long term gainer.

  • In the first scenario, you could in theory stretch out this one night into a 20 page comic. The gaining would be spread out so much that between the individual panels, you'd only be seeing a 5-10 pound difference, thus giving the perception of what many people would associate with slow WG sequences.

I can imagine there are those who truly prefer a large jump in size between panels, but I wonder a lot of preferences are based on the context of what the comic is doing time-wise, not panel-wise. I'm very curious in hearing what you folks prefer in your stories -- all else being equal -- and why?

  • Wanted to do a little something self indulgent. I like how this turned out!
