  The 4th of February is World Cancer Day! 🌎 The ISI marks World Cancer Day 2026 by showcasing some of the cancer immunologists in the Irish Immunology Community who are committed to improving outcomes for cancer patients. See some of the research they do below. Kate Hourigan - Research Masters student investigating how chemo-radiotherapy and the PARP inhibitor Olaparib can be combined to enhance natural killer cell therapy in small cell lung cancer. Joyce Barry - Breakthrough Cancer Research funded PhD student investigating a new NK cell therapy for oesophageal cancer. Caroline Marion - Post doctoral researcher working on developing a new Natural Killer cell therapy for women with ovarian cancer. Ella Kearney - Research Ireland funded PhD student investigating how T cell metabolism affects immunotherapy response in non-small cell lung cancer. #worldcancerday#irishimmunology#immunology
