Starmer and co after a year of us begging have decided that Nana deserves to not freeze to death.
Conceding that us proles may deserve a semblance of dignity in policy.
The reversal of the WFA is positive but still a step backwards.
We deserve dignity for all.
Well yes, because the money going into creating the block grant from Scotland would be collected directly by the government.
We’re not already sovereign and we’re not subsidised by England - we have booming industries which we’d easily leverage.
Because half of the stuff we can do it devolved to UK gov. We have 60% of the waters (which just isn’t counted at all cos it’s UK wide) and a massive chunk of the energy infrastructure, those two alone make us competitive on the international stage.
Not really and taking us out of the UK would mean that our renewable capacity does get invested in because it's no longer part of the UK market and the UK wide energy levies that pay for investment would go to rUK schemes.
Which we’d replace with our own schemes? 97.6% of our energy is already renewable generated? The state would not simply cease to exist just because it’s not being controlled by London
You've conflated energy and electricity there. The state would not cease to exist but replacing the investment from 65m people with investment from 5m people has some obvious artihmetical challenges
Being in the UK means Holyrood is subsidized by rUK tax payers to around 1/3rd if it's budget. It also means renewable energy generation and transmission infrastructure is subsidized by rUK bill payers.
You want to remove both sources of funding and don't think you need a plan to replace them.
We are the plan to replace them. The idea that Scotland is reliant on England to exist is a lie.
Yes things will change, that’s kind of the point of elections.
Not to exist, I never suggested that.
I have pointed out that we are, currently, substantial beneficiaries of the union.
You haven't disputed that. You also haven't presented a plan to address the immediate, considerable, problems scexit would entail.
"We are the plan" is a brexiteer-esque slogan
I’m not disputing that. We are part of the United kingdom and thus we are part of it?
But to put forward a stringent plan at Thais tags would be ridiculous as it would hinge on the terms of independence in the first place
This is getting very "the German car makers will save us".
The terms of independence will certainly not include UK taxpayers contributing to the Scottish budget or UK energy bill payers contributing to Scottish energy projects.
