Very few have followed us here. It would be great to get a few more follows and some amplification! 🔴⚪️
- Photo not representative of the weather but we’re all a lot less stressed since we changed our courier service to An Post. It’s saved us hours per week in phone calls. My colleagues are in a happier place and all our deliveries are now done in electric vans including ones we do ourselves!

But we fought back & you can too. First a strike, then a new masthead @thenerve.news Fuck Bezos. There is another way 👊👊👊 1/
- Reposted by Imbibe Coffee RoastersThis is cycling in Copenhagen. No hi-vis. No helmet mandates. People cycle because it’s safe — by design. This is what cycling should look like. Ireland is moving in the opposite direction. Instead of designing safe places to cycle, we're blaming the people cycling...

- Off to see "No Other Choice" in the IFI this afternoon. Nice finish to a bank holiday weekend.
- Roastery lunch of champions from the kings of kebabs.
- As we’ve done for many years now, we’ll be increasing the 1% of all revenue we give to @womensaidireland.bsky.social to 10% for the Bank Holiday weekend from midnight. We hope everyone has a good one! #speirgorm

- Purely based off my own experience but if you pay people well, give them autonomy and treat them with respect you probably won’t have staffing issues. You’ll also have a happy workplace. I can’t imagine morale levels in Amazon. Another 16,000 layoffs from a company that already makes amoral profit.

- Our first of 4 local grants of €4000 for 2026 goes to the Solas Project in Dublin 8 who do amazing work with underprivileged kids. I’m not sure some of us realise how difficult life can be for others and Solas do amazing work. Please check out all they do - www.solasproject.com #speirgorm

- As a business last year we gave up 4% of all our revenue between staff/good causes. This year we plan on same. What's not included in the 4% are social premiums we pay to co-ops on our 2 biggest coffees (El Puente & Aprysa which combined make Kaleidoscope). Last year this premium equated to $8,500.

- Last year we gave up 4% of all our revenue between staff and good causes. This year we hope to do the same. I don't think any coffee roaster does a better job than us so if you like coffee and our way of doing business imbibe.ie/pages/shop #speirgorm

- Today I shall mostly be drinking this and listening to Cameron Winter.
- Last year we increased the percentage of all we earn that we give up from 3.5% to 4%. We did this by the addition of local grants but also by projects at coffee origins. This year we're going to balance that more toward local so the 4 grants we give away will go from €2,500 to €4,000. #speirgorm
- We experienced an awful lot of hassle in the run up to Christmas with our courier service. We always have customer orders ready either same or next day but were getting emails from some frustrated customers asking where their coffee was. We've switched to An Post so hope to see big improvements!
- Just got an email from someone to say they tried our coffee and thought it was amazing so he sent his brother in Afghanistan a kilo. I needed a message like this and so kind he took took the time to do it. Far preferable to the few we got saying our courier screwed up in the Christmas madness…
- Had no idea @sweetoblivion.bsky.social and @laurenmurphyjourno.bsky.social would have such great guests when we agreed to sponsor their pod. In this bonus ep Aoife talks to Maggie O’Farrell of Hamnet fame! Very much worth adding this pod to your weekly rotation podcasts.apple.com/ie/podcast/g...

- Late to @sweetoblivion.bsky.social and @laurenmurphyjourno.bsky.social Get Around It podcast this week. It's a great one for book/TV lovers. Interviews with @ronanhession.bsky.social , Andrea Mara and Catherine Ryan Howard about their novels that were adapted to hit TV shows. linktr.ee/getaroundtoit
- I plan to read a lot more in 2026. Read my first Jon Fosse novel toward end of last year. Loved it but hard to put into works why. Picked up another of his books and @ronanhession.bsky.social puts it perfectly.
- Finished 2025 going slightly over the 4% of all revenue we give up as part of our business model. Break down: €20281 to Women's Aid €18,000 to a bridge building program at a co-op we buy from in Colombia €19,304 between local and origin projects €18,000 to staff pool of 5 on top of salary/bonus
