the move back to working in-office after everywhere was all remote during the height of COVID sucks, especially in games where studios are few & far between. it makes looking for work so difficult because everywhere wants you to relocate to suit them.
it's not something everybody can or wants to do

my previous employer moved to being fully remote during COVID and they never went back, having polled their staff to see what people actually wanted. the overwhelming majority preferred to stay remote.
