During the recent @fat.icerace, spectators around the track were able to see a very unusual vehicle drifting its way around the course. Motorsport nerds and fans with a strong knowledge of helmet designs might have recognised its drivers as Porsche brand ambassadors Jörg Bergmeister and Timo Bernhard. Both had the time of their lives behind the wheel of the distinctive Porsche 964 Buggy, which for many years was used as a fun demonstration vehicle for the Porsche Sport Driving School. Built in the early 1990s by Porsche trainees under the technical guidance of Ewald Pfurtscheller, the 964 Buggy is based on the complete chassis of a 964-generation 911 Carrera 2 with Tiptronic gearbox. This was the first 911 without torsion bar springs, and the Buggy openly showed the model’s new suspension layout. In this case, suspension, brakes and seats were borrowed from the 911 Carrera RS of the time. Instead of the usual bodywork, bespoke mud guards and a specially designed roll cage were installed. This unique show car was used until 2007 before it was handed over to the Porsche Heritage and Museum team. It was recommissioned by the expert technicians in the Porsche Museum workshop – including Mr. Pfurtscheller – ahead of this year’s Ice Race. Performing expertly executed drifts on its new studded tyres, the car was shown to the public for the first time in 19 years.

  While reporting this, I had something happen that's never happened. A comms rep for one of the co's disputed my reporting and said what I was telling them was untrue because it was not in Grok, xAI's chatbot. I was looking directly at the files. And this person was using AI to challenge the truth.
