- imagine if they made a hammer and you bought the hammer and used the hammer for years and then halfway through building a house the people who made the hammer said "we're disabling your hammer in a month" and there was basically no tool available to replace it without a significant learning curve

- it is simply true in no uncertain terms that this kind of behavior needs to be illegal. you should not be able to arbitrarily depreciate a tool that millions rely on just because it would make you more money. these companies think they're feudal lords, but all they have now is snake oil.
