- The more trad/neotrad systems I read the more I cement my belief that L5R 4e had the right idea with damage rolls for weapons. It is extremely simple. Each weapon has strict damage types in roll and keep format (like 3k1, meaning roll 3d10 and keep one), but you add kept dice equal to your Strength
