- The only fungus I saw the other day during some pretty cold temperatures! 🥶. Identified as an Octospora, probably O. musci-muralis growing with its host the common cushion-forming moss Grimmia pulvinata. 🍄🟫 🌿
- Do you have spore measurements for these? I’m puzzling over a few octospora species myself at the moment.
- According to www.octospora.de/species_info... spores are "21-28 x 10-11 µm", larger than many other Octospora species. @ilichenmoss2.bsky.social suggested this species on iNat due to the 'cigar-shaped spores, paraphyses curved apically'.
