First film at the cinema for a long time: 1946’s The Postman Always Rings Twice - shown on actual film with a projector, including ‘next week’ trailed films, and an intermission.
I was unsure early on if the film would be for me but it built to great drama.
A fun experience and I hope to do more!
Some good news: house prices for first time buyers are currently the most affordable they’ve been for over a decade.
(Related: I’m in the middle of buying my first house!)
archive.ph/19j8UMy best friend died 2 months ago aged 30. Yesterday we had his memorial. It was a beautiful day but, because he didn't have a will, his estranged family took his body away from us. His partner of 13 years doesn't know when or where he was buried. Please please make a will x

At the end of this month 'Doctor Who: Too Hot For TV' will be launching a separate podcast called 'Too Hot For TV'. Each episode will see me and a guest jump into the expanded media of a different franchise. More info soon.
P.s. 'Doctor Who: Too Hot For TV' will be back in May.
Ooh!
On my way to Birmingham pubs.

I bet it’s twice as much for a colour one that can get BBC Two.
Had my first professional video call with an Australian today.
He managed to drop “motherfuckers” (as a term of endearment) into the first few seconds, which was a sign of things to come.
I liked him.
Use this post as an excuse to post one of your favorite characters:
This Monday morning I’m clinging on to the fact that in another 3 weeks it will be light both when I get up and when I finish work.
Then I’ll be unstoppable.
Ooh these chairs are being repeated on Antiques Roadshow!
House furniture browsing has peaked: my ads have started giving me The Chairs of Blake’s 7 and Doctor Who.
Won’t lie, I’m tempted. Maybe time to revisit That Chair Guy’s blogs - for inspiration this time…
Picked up the first Big Finish Star Cops sets at the start of the year and finished this weekend.
I’ve loved these thrilling stories, including both the original and new characters. Feels what the series should have been.
I never quite finished watching the TV series but now want to revisit it.
Finished my first physical book of the year! 🎉
This was right up my street, comparing aspects of The Robots of Death to Chris Boucher’s work in Blake’s 7 and Star Cops, looking at race in other 1970s’ series like Callan and Gangsters, and much more - really enjoyed it.

Spending an evening with my queen (and new special effects).
I think I need to work on a family tree. My mother has no idea what either of my grandparents did in the war and doesn’t know the names of 2 of my grandad’s siblings.
But revealed she had an aunt who ran off to Egypt with a man, then returned with a baby, and an uncle who was a nightclub singer!
Amazing vibes from Rachel tonight
