Democrats now say Republicans have established a precedent when it comes to Congress' ability to subpoena and haul in past presidents and family members under threat of criminal charges — thanks to how Republicans threatened the Clintons — and they plan to use it against Trump.
We first need to control the House, and with it the Judiciary and Oversight committees.. then we'll have subpoena power.
Yeah, yeah, I dig. But I think the Dems need to get tougher across the aisle.
Take the gloves off, start punching. This is critical. No time for glad handing and top toeing. Time for action in both sides.
It's a lot easier to do that when you have the majority..
Again, I realize that. But these are desperate times and the Republicans know this as well. This is madness. Beyond all reasonable realities.
Feb 4, 2026 20:54We can only be as desperate as the House and Senate rules allow. I get the frustration, I'm there too, but a democracy doesn't survive without rules, which is why Trump and the GOP are trying to stretch the rules to their breaking point..
