- I'm really happy to share this paper showing a relationship between social integration and offspring survival in female spider monkeys. I was lucky to work on this with Cristina Jasso, @grf.bsky.social and a great group of collaborators. link.springer.com/article/10.1...
- I'm excited that the ACM book club will be reading and discussing my book on AI! I'll be joining on March 24 for the final discussion. www.acm.org/articles/edu...
- New study from #UniKonstanz @cbehav.bsky.social and @mpi-animalbehav.bsky.social shows: animal swarms don’t need to follow fixed rules; their coordination emerges from brain dynamics. Flexible “ring attractor” networks create complexity from simplicity: t1p.de/4c6cd @icouzin.bsky.social

- “Reclaiming academic publishing as a public good requires a return to not-for-profit models & sustainable open-access systems. Quality, accessibility & integrity need to be put ahead of profit. Change is needed to protect the purpose of academic research: to advance knowledge in the public interest”

- Thrilled to see this paper out, two years after starting our collaboration at @divintelligence.bsky.social
- Mark Blokpoel & I have maintain a living open interactive textbook “Theoretical Modeling for Cognitive Science and Psychology.” Recently, Mark updated Ch 9 & 10 so they have embedded, running and editable, code again. Check it out! ✨ computationalcognitivescience.github.io/lovelace/

- My co-authors and I are happy to present our framework "Collective Intelligence as Collective Information Processing (CIP)." Here we propose decomposing different information processing mechanisms to unify disparate phenomena traditionally classified as "collective intelligence."

- Dimensionality reduction may be the wrong approach to understanding neural representations. Our new paper shows that across human visual cortex, dimensionality is unbounded and scales with dataset size—we show this across nearly four orders of magnitude. journals.plos.org/ploscompbiol...

- How do people form beliefs about complex topics? Happy to report our Bayesian model of the psychology of Bayesian updating is out in @ispp-pops.bsky.social! (w/ Gabriel Li & Krosnick) If you gloss over the Greek, it's a new model for how to assess the impacts of information on summary judgments.
