- What fire ceased? The genocide continues. On a simmer rather than a full boil, but the aim stays the same. Kill, maim, torture, break, displace
- A wonderful article by a wonderfully talented young Palestinian woman 👇 www.theguardian.com/profile/taqw...
- "The simplest reason to refuse resignation is that resignation can only harmonize with the tech-industry narrative of AI inevitability" Excellent piece! 👇 www.nplusonemag.com/issue-51/the...
- The 'ceasefire' that isn't. A brilliant young student living in Gaza writes about the daily killings and hardship that people in Gaza endure, which continue unchallenged www.palestinedeepdive.com/p/ceasefire-...
- Short sci-fi films made by young people in Porto and Gaza, a project supported by the British Council, the Islamic University of Gaza and the University of Glasgow. Find more information here linestothefuture.com
- ‼️ The first edition of Voices from Gaza blog is now live. Gorgeous writing by young talented people ‼️ voicesfromgazablog.wordpress.com/november-sub...
- "When people learn in languages they know, and when these languages are not stigmatised but welcomed as a vital element of diversity in a culture, then everyone learns more and develops stronger literacy skills, building confidence for the future"
- My bit on why languages are brilliant and multilingual education is good for all www.thenational.scot/politics/256...
- In case anyone was under any kind of illusion. What remains of Gaza is a huge, ramshackle refugee camp condemned to be totally reliant on aid for bare survival, in which civilians constantly risk being killed, including families looking for firewood. www.theguardian.com/news/ng-inte...
- Afternoon session of the @uofglasgow.bsky.social collaborations with Palestine event at the University of Porto. The LINEs2theFuture project
- Presenting on the @uofglasgow.bsky.social LINEs4Palestine projects at the University of Porto
- "residence permits have only been granted for one to two years at a time ... to gain permanent status, refugees have ... to have had a full-time job for several years" ...Who gives a full time job for 'several' years to someone who can stay only one or two years? www.theguardian.com/world/2025/n...
- The Danish treatment of refugee is blatantly racist and callous. But this is what Labour is looking at. I despair
- I’m calling on governments to #TaxTheSuperRich for a green and just future! Add your name: act.gp/42iAjSi
- "The partial withdrawal left Israel in control of roughly 53 percent of Gaza" This means that the area *not* under Israel's control is about the same size as Glasgow.
- By and large the 'ceasefire' smokescreen seems to be working to ensure that the genocide in Gaza can go on unchallenged. Simmering along, rather than full boil, perhaps, but continuing nonetheless
- Hamas not consulted and no Palestinian involved; Trump's billionaire clique to 'develop' the Strip as *they* want; Netanyahu to get carte blanche to destroy what/who remains if this plan for 'peace' does not work. This is no peace plan, it's Netanyahu's wish list www.theguardian.com/world/2025/s...
- "Gaza was mostly self-sufficient in vegetables and poultry, and met much of the population’s demand for olives, fruit and milk. But last month the UN reported that just 1.5% of its agricultural land now remains both accessible and undamaged" with long term, serious contamination of water and soil
- When you consider the *ecocide* alongside the genocide being perpetrated in Gaza, you begin to grasp the totality of the Israeli state’s attempt to eliminate both the Palestinians and their homeland. My column today. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
- Who were the very small clique of genocide supporters standing up and applauding (a part from Israel)? Apparently, the US and UK remained in the room, to their shame. I hope the broadcasting of Netanyahu's speech in Gaza (a form of torture) included a video of the mass walk out youtu.be/ZGczX15Xu8M

- Heroes. Each and everyone of them "Dispatch from Sumud Flotilla: Sailing into ‘yellow zone’ en route to Gaza" www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/9/...
- And then you turn your back on the fascists
- The best reaction when fascists turn up to try and provoke and dusrupt a pacific demo? Start street party!!! ❤️ Well done Glasgow good #antifascist people!!
- The #GlobalSumudFlotilla is on the move! ⛵⛵ 🇵🇸 ⛵ 🕊️ ⛵⛵⛵ You can track (and support) these shiny, brave humans ✨ here globalsumudflotilla.org/tracker/
- Settler colonialism is built on dehumanisation “It’s not just that Palestinians are the enemy; they’re viewed exclusively through a colonial gaze” - “They’re somehow worthless and inferior” “This is a notion that is fundamental to Israeli society; this sense that Palestinian lives are worth less”
- "Wanton destruction of cities, towns or villages" is a WAR CRIME. Not that Israel has ever faced any consequences for the inordinate amount of war crimes and crimes against humanity it is has been committing daily, for two years
- An update from Haaretz "IDF declared a "humanitarian zone" in southern Gaza". Humanitarian zone = concentration camp. Doublespeak again. It's just sickening
- Just wow! 👏👏👏 www.youtube.com/watch?v=724G...
- This is what humanity looks like 👇
- Quite a juxtaposition. The HO to evacuate 9 (NINE) students with offers to study in the UK (out of 40 people who met the criteria, which is still not even close to a drop in the ocean) while Israel calls up 60k (SIXTY THOUSAND) people to invade Gaza and gives the go ahead to stealing people's land
- Every single word 👇
- Saw posts about the UK recognising Palestine unless Israel behaves, and thought "Surely there is more. Recognition of a state cannot be a bribe to get a rogue state to behave" Turns out that this is exactly what it is: a bit of theatre of the absurd from Starmer www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
- THIS 👇
- Ant it continues. We cannot bring back to life the tens of thousands of people massacred and starved, but we can demand that this stops NOW, and ensure that all those responsible are tried for crimes against humanity

- Reading the comments I can see that the bile-vomiting parasite bots have followed you here
- Just had to go through a face scan to assess my age before being allowed here (i may have accidentally stuck my tongue ou. AI was still happy I'm old enough, bless). We're so far down the other side of the looking glass that we can't even see it anymore
- I can't see how this charade serves other purpose beyond harassing young people into not reading about forced starvation, challenges to anti migrant narratives, etc
- #GazaIsBeingStarved this must stop NOW (and even now is too late) and all those involved in deliberately doing this, those supporting them - and those enabling them by failing to act and therefore allowing this to happen - must be brought where they belong: the Hague and the ICC
- THIS 👇
- #GazaIsBeingStarved There is only one word for this: criminal. And only one sane response: the Hague ICC trials for all those directly responsible and for their enablers www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...
- #GazaIsBeingStarved Rome Statute: Crimes against humanity include extermination as "the intentional infliction of conditions of life, inter alia the deprivation of access to food and medicine, calculated to bring about the destruction of part of a population"
- #GazaIsBeingStarved These war criminals and their supporters/enablers (also by failing to act) must be brought to justice for the immoral death, pain and humiliation they have unleashed on an entire (trapped) civilian population www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...
- #GazaIsBeingStarved and starving people are being killed by Israeli snipers and tanks while trying to secure some food for themselves and their families. Abominable does not even start to describe what is happening www.wfp.org/news/gaza-co....
- "This is not self-defence. It is not even the kind of collateral damage which can be unavoidable in war. It is collective punishment, in other words revenge, visited not just on Hamas but on an entire population. It is, in short, a war crime" #GazaIsBeingStarved
- I am getting messages from young people from wealthy families in Gaza who are starving, who are saying that they will not last long. There is simply nothing in the markets to buy. And the terrorist are those who oppose this sickening cruelty, the deliberate starvation. I will never forgive

- Destroying the social fabric and eliminating the support that communities can provide is a tactic that aims to make life even more unbearable (if possible)

- Very interesting analysis. However, are: individualism; belief in ethic and racial (now gender) 'purity'; rational egotism; competition and the survival of the fittest; ambition, etc. also not sets of beliefs/principles? Destructive and despicable, granted, but still values? Genuine question
