Since my wife suffers from long covid I'm looking into this too. Can you please tell me which brand/version you got?
Does the room fill with pressurized oxygen or pressurized air where you wear a mask?
I’m sorry your wife is dealing with long covid too. It’s so hard. And I applaud you for looking into ideas that may help her.
This is what a soft shell sitting chamber looks like. One can sit or lie down in it. It pressurizes to 1.4 atm and you wear a mask or cannula to get extra oxygen.
If you would like to DM me I can give you more info about the brand and contact info for the supplier I used. It was much more affordable than US options for those of us in US / Canada.
I would like more info, please. With a cost of around $250 per treatment and needing 40+ treatments I figured a personal chamber would be a better investment, although I'm still trying to figure out if it will indeed help.
How many sittings did you need before you noticed an effect?
Oof that is a lot to pay per session. I did a lot of research ahead of time in patient groups of people who have used soft shelled HBOTs for Lyme and learned the best use is 60-90 mins daily and you start to see improvement around session 40-80 (depending on your situation).
For me it took around 40 daily sessions to start seeing a change. 75 sessions to really notice a difference. I did ~111 daily sessions with an 8 day break around session 75. Then dropped off to a few times a week and that then dropped to once every week or two over the course of 18 months.
And then I had to start over because I had lost all my gains from it. Doing it here and there didn’t add value. So since late August I’ve been back in the machine daily again and will try a different long term protocol.
So probably best way is to find users of HBOT in the Netherlands, especially groups of users in the long covid community. I have read mixed stories about long term effect, but I guess there's a difference between LC and the Lyme/LC combi, which sounds like a lot to carry.
My only hope is for my wife to be able to work again. She is a teacher for 4-12 yo kids with a specialisation on working with our therapy dog. She misses her work so much, it's a pain to witness.
But any improvement would be worth it. Can you share anything about the cost?
