- Reposted by Ana DodikThe ACM Digital Library, where a LOT of computing-related research is published (I'd say at least 75% of my own publications), is now not only providing (without consent of the authors and without opt-in by readers) AI-generated summaries of papers, but they appear as the *default* over abstracts.
- newspaper covers were the original clickbait

- Tired of senior folks dragging people's posters on socials. Has contentification cooked our sociality so much? Consider alternatives: 1. In-person feedback. 2. Broadly construed feedback. 3. Make resources. 4. Post positive examples. 5. Censor the name. 6. Laugh about it in a groupchat if you must.
- 🌶️ Hot take: ML-based graphics makes some graphics researchers unhappy for the same reason diffusion models make artists unhappy. Both automate the interesting and beautiful parts of the work and both deskill the worker. Both result in questionable quality and both are being adopted regardless.

- Reposted by Ana DodikSometimes I see people like 20 tweets deep into an argument with Grok. Like, what are you doing brother? You are trying to win an argument with a vending machine.
- Reposted by Ana Dodik🎄 Introducing our paper A Generalizable Light Transport 3D Embedding for Global Illumination lnkd.in/gQUMSAyV . 🙈 Just as Transformers learn long-range relationships between words or pixels, our new paper shows they can also learn how light interacts and bounces around a 3D scene.
- I may disagree with Sally Korbluth on many (most?) things, but credit where credit is due.

- Finally replied to one of these LLM generated undergrad emails saying they really liked my work on topic XYZ (I have never heard of this stuff let alone worked on it), and asked "What is topic XYZ? :)" I got back an LLM generated output explaining topic XYZ. Chat are we cooked?

- Adam Raine, 16, died from suicide in April after months on ChatGPT discussing plans to end his life. His parents have filed the first known case against OpenAI for wrongful death. Overwhelming at times to work on this story, but here it is. My latest on AI chatbots: www.nytimes.com/2025/08/26/t...

- Anyone here have experience PyPI packaging of custom nanobind bindings for CUDA code specifically? I'm fairly good at pybind/nanobind for standard C++ stuff, but I don't even know where to start for GPU code, especially one that links to Nvidia's proprietary libraries. pls halp 🙏🙏🙏
- My old rendering paper made it into the history of path guiding at the SIGGRAPH course! 😍
- Ok but seriously now, why is SIGGRAPH North America never in Mexico? Seems like a fantastic option.

- I really like this idea!
- Physically-based differentiable rendering enables inverse rendering, but handling visibility is hard. Our SIGGRAPH 2025 paper uses quadrics to importance sample silhouette edges--outperforming all existing unidirectional differentiable path tracers. momentsingraphics.de/Siggraph2025...
