Our paper today in NatClimateChange led by Quan Zhang uses theory & data to show that strong growth stimulation is unlikely.🌎🌐🍁 www.nature.com/articles/s41...

- Anthropogenic #ClimateChange 🌎 🌍 drove increases in UK summer heat 🌡️ mortality. Yet, without aerosol cooling this increase would have been even more drastic! Check out our #ClimateAttribution & #Epidemiology 📊 study in @thelancetplanet.bsky.social, led by Kai Wan for more! 🔗 tinyurl.com/yzpy8v55
- (1/2) About 700 annual heat deaths (1961–1980) were avoided by aerosol cooling. Then, rising GHGs + reduced aerosols drove sharp increases. Projections show a 2–6-fold increase in heat deaths through GHGs by 2100. However, we did not look into the positive health impacts of aerosol reductions!

The design and implementation is particularly exciting, as we move from 'concentration driven' to 'emissions driven' models.
