"There she goes again."
The familiar disgust, spat at her with the same venom she had grown so accustomed to. Even among her own people, far to the north, was she an outsider. She couldn't help it that the night sky would call to her, that lightning and thunder would play at her finger tips-
Jan 18, 2026 18:52-that some kind of being in the storm would call out, asking her to follow, to approach it. Her fascination only grew with each passing day, excited at first to talk to others about it. Before they would curse her.
"A storm deity in the night sky? You're inviting trouble, trouble we don't want.-
-It would be better if you left."
Her own friends, eventually her own family, began to see her as some kind of burden. Taking the side of the neighbors and strangers. She had decided, one day, to do just that. Taking what she could, she would follow this storm, seeking out its source. -
-Flying across the skies. It would be a day before she would come across two travellers, holding ground against a wounded drake. The Elf almost had their head bitten off when she commanded the very lightning inside her to strike it down. She panicked, of course, because she had never taken a life-
-before. The Elf helped her to calm down, reassuring her, warm and friendly. She had forgotten what that felt like. When they shared why they were traveling, she reluctantly shared her own and received no judgement. Instead, the Elf, introducing himself as Gavwen Arajeon and the druid, Rena Rafisur-
-extended a hand, to travel with them. Kerva couldn't contain her excitement, eagerly accepting. She had two new friends that didn't think odd of her. The last three months were the best time she'd had in a very long time. They would make their way south, to warmer weather. When the voice at night-
-spoke to her, woke her up, Gav would sit with her until she could calm down enough to sleep again, not once thinking little of her. It meant the world to her. She would be there for him as much as he was for her, Rena making small, fun, observable comments. Kerva would almost lose her composure-
-while Gav seemed unbothered. She wasn't sure if he felt the same way she felt, too afraid to ask, having already lost one home already, she didn't want to ruin what she had with Gav. So, she kept it to herself, focusing on the voice from afar. Finally, settling in Teziir for the time being-
-taking the opportunity one morning, after Rena had left them to find jobs to fulfill, to grab a freshly baked loaf of bread to share with Gav. Just the two of them. A simple little mundane thing. Something she wouldn't trade for anything else.
