- The UK movement for justice in Palestine is strong. Let's make 2026 a year for Palestine. Here's why: Israel is still bombing and our government is still sending arms – like parts for the F-35 fighter jet. Now there are reports the government might roll back last year’s insufficient arms embargo.🧵👇
- Since the ceasefire started, Israel has seized most of the agricultural land in Gaza and killed over 400 Palestinians. The UK government is still supporting severe environmental injustice in Palestine.
- Attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank continue to escalate as Israel demolishes UN buildings in East Jerusalem. While road building is about to begin for a huge settlement project that would 'bury the idea of a Palestinian state' in the words of the Israeli Finance Minister.

- Great to see the UK government working closely with our European neighbours to solve common problems, in this case energy security and climate change. This mature and positive approach is in welcome contrast to the tantrums, name-calling and threats deployed by Trump. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
- “The only people who benefit from backtracking on climate action are the polluters, billionaires and powerful vested interests profiting from fossil fuels.” - Mike Childs, head of policy at Friends of the Earth. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home...
- After 3+ years of campaigning from Friends of the Earth, the government has now published its #WarmHomesPlan. This is a significant step towards making our homes greener and cheaper to heat. The plan shows good progress, but we must see more funding and ambition. Breakdown 👇
- 💷 Tougher standards for rental homes, which will help cut bills for tenants and crack down on cold, mouldy rentals. 🌡️ £2.7 billion will help to drive down the cost of heat pumps, allowing many households to switch from polluting gas boilers. But larger grants are needed for low-income homes.
- ☀️ £5 billion will help councils and social housing landlords install insulation and clean energy like solar panels, with low interest loans to help owner-occupiers fit solar panels, heat pumps or insulation. And a continued commitment to retrofit 5 million homes over the course of this parliament.
- ️🛢️Finally, it’s vital that fossil fuel giants be made to pay more tax, with funds being used to make every home warm and affordable. Because there will still be millions of low-income households living in fuel poverty without bold action. Demand change 👇 foe.uk/prmiw

- The government wants to give police new powers to ban protests if they're taking place in the same area as previous protests. Creating change and holding those in power to account often requires repeated protests. That's why we're standing with civil society groups to oppose this move.✊ foe.uk/331zq

- Research by Oxfam has found that the world’s richest 1% have used up their fair share of carbon emissions just 10 days into 2026.😵💫 It's time the biggest polluters, like fossil fuel companies and the super-rich, paid more for climate action.✊ @oxfamgb.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/environment/...

- Wind generated nearly 30% of the UK's electricity last year, with over 6% coming from solar panels. This a great step in the right direction, but we need the government to go further and move faster to ensure we can scale up and meet the UK's clean power targets. ✊ www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

- We condemn the treatment of prisoners in British prisons on hunger strike awaiting trial for activities in support of Palestine. Many have been on remand for a year and are demanding a fair trial. Their health is deteriorating quickly, and they need urgent intervention.
- They were opposing arms manufacturers shipping weapons to Israel which is committing genocide against the Palestinian people. Those who breach international law by committing, arming or enabling genocide should be the ones being held to account.
- “The Conservatives’ plan to roll back the 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel cars is reckless and short-sighted. 30,000 people in the UK die every year from air pollution, with much of this coming from transport.” - Mike Childs, Friends of the Earth. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

- Human rights matter most when they are hardest to defend. This #HumanRightsDay 180+ UK organisations are standing together to demand better from the Prime Minister. We want leadership that strengthens rights, not weakens them, because dignity, fairness, and accountability matter.
- Powerful governments of the world, like the UK, have failed to defend human rights in Palestine, or have allowed their serious violation. The UK continues to supply arms to Israel, despite the ongoing killing of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
- None of us are truly free until Palestine is free. Human rights for all must mean an end to the occupation of Palestine and accountability for the genocide.

- Our sister group WALHI/Friends of the Earth Indonesia have shown how government mismanagement of natural resources in the North Sumatran Batangtoru rainforest has worsened the treacherous flooding and landslides.

- We stand with communities in Southern and Southeastern Asia, and with sister groups in the area, as a climate-fuelled cyclone wreaks havoc across the region. Its deadly impact has been amplified by corporate destruction of forests, leading to devastating flooding and landslides.
