ALL companies that reach $1 trillion market cap do so through wage theft, under-rewarding the workers whose labor and time enable the valuation. Walmart is a particularly egregious example, its employees subsidized in the US by the taxpayer due to the ridiculously low hourly rate. They’re shit.
They're based in Arkansas. A state of 3 million people and 1/4 people don't have enough to eat. What a philanthropic and giving company. 👹
So now they can afford to pay their employees actual livable wages, right?
First off, Walmart & the Walton family receive an annual $7.8 billion dollars in subsidies and tax breaks. Then, you have them using offshore tax havens to avoid billions in U.S. corporate taxes & exploiting loopholes for executive pay deductions.
So, yeah, no surprise.
Why are many of their employees on government assistance then?
It helps that we pay for all their employees' food and healthcare.
