Foolish Baseball
- Hitters really do have a lot of control over their batted ball distribution. Max Muncy hit just one (1) opposite field groundball in 2025. When you're as committed to pulling the ball in the air as he is, the reverse rarely happens.
- The Dodgers signing Kyle Tucker has made their intentions clear: they want to win the World Series.
- These projections are my favorite part of the HOF tracking process. Really helps demystify the differences between public & private voters, as well as the effect of year-over-year net gains. Andruw Jones with a 90% chance of reaching the threshold is noteworthy here.
- Aaron Judge may have won AL MVP, but 2025 was The Year of Big Dumper: www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5hs...

- Someone had to be brave enough to say it, but we can't let something as pure and American as gambling be tainted by sports like baseball. My argument: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyKH...
- My newest episode of Baseball Bits has a complicated thesis, which is that Corey Seager is good at playing baseball. www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2KV...

- Babe. wake up. New Baseball Bits just dropped. It's about the population decline of old hitters in MLB. www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMtJ...
- Not really impressed by Ohtani's balanced skillset as a two-way player. I am also just as good at hitting as I am at pitching.
- I wonder if there will ever be any real pushback on legalized sports betting, or if there’s just too much wealth to be extracted from the lower and middle classes for a Come to Jesus moment to occur. You’d expect some form of dissent from social conservatives, but I don’t see a temperance movement.
- Until 1913, baserunners were allowed to run in a straight line across the diamond from 1st to 3rd on a single, provided they could avoid the pitcher trying to tackle them. This was known as the “gambler’s shortcut.”
- New Bits! As an analogue for Hank Aaron's consistency, let's talk about not his BEST season, rather his 15TH BEST season. www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_3a...

- 🧵 A few more players/units I'm interested in this year. I'm calling this "Things That Make Me Say Hmmmm..." 1. Hunter Goodman >Fast/compact swing >Can pull ball in the air, 12.8 Barrel% in 2024 >.199 BABIP with Coors as home ballpark killed his 2024 line >No position, but good athlete
