POLITICO reporting that the White House has now claimed the ape video was an accident and removed it.

To recap the White House's official position, the racist video was posted erroneously by a staffer and they took it down, but even if it was posted on purpose, the outrage would have been fake because the post was fine and inspired by the Lion King

So their position is the president has virulently racist staffers who think the president shares their views, and who can post on his behalf without oversight? Great!

The thing is both they and we know it is a lie, and the lying with impunity is part of how they reinforce their power. They delete the tweet to create pretend consequences.
