America...
...is arresting journalists
...is kidnapping citizens with no charges
...is running concentration camps
...is killing protestors
...is threatening allies
...is invading neighbours
...
Are we waiting for photos of gas chambers?
In 2014, i was in Ferguson, MO.
Journalists Ryan Reilly and Wesley Lowery were arrested. 321 citizens arrested with many never charged. The kids in cages already existed. We were IN Ferguson because LEOs killed Mike Brown.
Unless the allies being threatened and neighbors invaded is your red line
And i don't mean that in the "i told you so" way. I mean that in the "what makes THIS different for you than that?"
Im not looking for an answer. I'm suggesting you interrogate yourself.
I don't trust that you will continue fighting for ALL people if you can't even sit with why you didn't before, now. If "this has been happening to Black people" makes you think "this is different" or "you need to forgive us without qualifiers" then i know what you are.
And Ferguson wasn't MY first action. I was protesting as far back as the 80s...when Yusuf Hawkins was killed. That year my mother sent me to live with my pop in VA, where someone spray painter "niggers go home" on the external auditorium doors. Several Black students were brought into the office.

So respectfully, welcome to the country WE have BEEN living in. I suggest you pace yourselves because "incremental change" is all they offer.
