1. Do not wear full face makeup or face paint. It will not protect you from the police or any other people who could recognize you. And since Juggalos are recognized as a gang by the FBI, any face paint similar to Juggalo paint can get you in trouble. Wear full face masks instead.

2. Do not pour ANYTHING except water into someone’s eyes to remove pepper spray. Pepper spray cannot be neutralized, it must be removed, which is what water is best for and will not damage your eyes. Spraying from a sports bottle is most effective

3. Make sure someone outside the protest KNOWS WHERE YOU ARE AT ALL TIMES! Also make sure they know how long you will be out.

4. If you must write someone’s contact information on your body or keep it somewhere else on your person, make sure it is not visible. Police have been known to target those with visible contact information on their bodies.

5. Dress appropriately. Good running shoes, protective layers like long pants or long sleeves, conceal any identifying features (tattoos, dyed hair, piercings, etc.). DO NOT WEAR PROTEST BOOTS. THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU.

6. Do NOT wear contacts or eye makeup as they can make irritation from pepper spray or tear gas far worse. Keep your eyes and face protected.

7. DO NOT GO ALONE.

8. Do not post ANYTHING about when, where, or who you’re going with. Do not record or take photos of others at the event. If you must, make sure everyone’s faces and other identifying features are covered or censored.

9. If you see someone getting arrested, do your best to get their full first and last name and date of birth.

10. If you yourself are getting arrested, DO NOT SPEAK TO THE COPS. Make sure someone else is able to get your information as well.
