in my opinion, this is the clear marker of what i think counts as a genuine "mythic" pokemon
Arceus, Deoxys, Darkai and Volcanion are just DLC Legendaries
im unsure about Genesect, Zeraora and Zarude. they strattle the line in aesthetics imo
i think what i like most about Marshadow is it doesnt look legendary. but it does look special and important. Like Celebi of Shaymin
I think my big issue with pokemon like Deoxys or Darkrai is they look too "epic" and feel like legends
a mythic should be small and cute while still otherworldly
Genesect is tough because its clearly a Mewtwo inspired concept with some Arceus thrown in for good measure, so it should feel more Legendary than Mythic, but at the same time, it kinda feels too "mundane"?? like the man-made science diminishes its legendary-ness
in all honesty, Genesect, Zeraora, and Zarude feel more like the belong in the same category as Lucario and Zoroark.
i guess the term is more "heroic" pokemon? no that word doesnt quite fit
basically, Pokemon that could be protagonists in their own right

i dunno, those feel a lil too animalistic. they seem more like a classic legend
I think where Type Null differs from Genesect, is that Null's technology is ancient, evoking lost civilizations
Genesect is something we can make now in the present
They are basically more complicated versions of Mewtwo.
Type: Null is part of the whole Ultra-Beast stuff, where its not very clear what the actual role that pokemon has in its original world.
Mewtwo definitely has that same Heroic/Protagonist vibe as Zaroark and Genesect though
