Your Guide to the Greatest pubs and bars in Europe! ✨ 🍻
- U Baumannu, Brno-Česká 🇨🇿 1st visit. Simple train out to this village pub dating to 1781, restored by Dalešice brewery, with some old world charm intact. Lovely small town social scene and sublime lagers. Kitchen until 8.30 after when it's purely social. 🍻👍
- S'Stüberl, Vienna 🇦🇹 1st visit. Unplanned but had time to kill before the train. 5 mins walk south of HBF. If you want a quick beer before your journey you could do worse. Typical middle-aged, clapped-out but friendly kneipe. Winter Olympics on TV. Puntigamer palatable for a change. Cash only 💰🍻
- Gasthaus Timo, Vienna 🇦🇹 1st visit. Old working class pub in Favoriten. €10 mains, €3 soup, €4 beers. Almost Hospoda-like bar area. The usually troublesome Gösser bier was reasonably smooth this time. Really a throwback venue. Nice hospitality and welcome from the retirement age staff & regulars 🍻👍
- Salm Bräu, Vienna 🇦🇹 1st visit. Central beer hall I ought to have visited quite a while ago! Beer is typical middling brewpub standard, but the brewkit and hall remain reasonably charming. 🍻
- Trip #4 of 2026 begins today! On the itinerary: Vienna 🇦🇹 Brno 🇨🇿

- Antigua Casa de Guardia, Málaga 🇪🇦 Hi honey, I'm home 💗

- La Candela, Granada 🇪🇦 2nd visit. A little more stylish and sceney with a younger crowd. Internationalist but for locals, which is a pithy summary of Spain, I guess. 🍻👍 The moon is huge tonight 🌝
- Bohemia Jazz Café, Granada 🇪🇦 4th visit. When in Rome, visit the best bar more than once! There's reason we placed this on our Top 100 Bars In Europe! 🍹👍
- Bar El Pesoar, Granada 🇪🇦 1st visit. Reportedly a student classic and one of those bars that still fulfils the Andalusian promise of fantasy cheap tapas. Filled up quick since these Don't expect finesse but cheerful joie de vivre? It's got it! 👍🍻 €7 got 2 beers and basically a full meal.
- This afternoon in Granada 🇪🇦 I spent €18 This bought 4 x 0.3l beers 2 x 250ml wines Tapas of Bacalao in salsa Tapas of potato with spicy salsa Tapas of pork loin on bread Tapas of whitebait Tapas of battered cod chunks Tapas of hot ham and olives 🙆♂️🤷♂️
- Bar Casa Julio, Granada 🇪🇦 1st visit. Dinky tapas bar with fish specialities. Busy on the alley outside, a quick tempo to the place. A tiny bit less loveable overall but handy to have up your sleeve. 👍🍻
- Bar El Albergue, Granada 🇪🇦 1st visit. South of the centre & away from tourist activity. Nicely personalised interior. Peculiar beer font the shape of the nearby Basilica. Beer + tapa €2.60. Judging by written reviews and vibes off the server try to be polite and blend in here if you're not a local🍻👍
- Taberna Casa Enrique, Granada 🇪🇦 2nd visit. Change of location after decades begs the question, is this really the oldest pub? Either way, they chose well for the new premises. Small but intimate & welcoming. Bodega type vibes, wine focus, characterful venue with personality 🍷👍
- Bodegas La Mancha, Granada 🇪🇦 1st visit. I wonder if this is owned by the Castañedas guys as there are some similarities. Impressive mock-Mudejar frontage. Jamon paradise inside 🐖 A good place to go for a caña and a tapa 🍻
- Bodegas Castañedas, Granada 🇪🇦 2nd visit. Central classic. Hive of activity. Today's tapa: Bacalao in salsa, which with a beer comes to the grand total of €2.90. Service is efficient and carries that sense of confidence you find with embedded institutions. 🍻👍
- Yesterdays scores!🇪🇦 1st visit🔹 New Entry ⭐ Málaga Antigua Casa de Guardia 9 La Tranca 8 Colmado 93 8 Cofrade Las Merchanas 8.5 Central Beers 7.5 El Pimpi 7.7 Granada Brujidera 8.5🔹⭐ Rincon del Cofrade 7.8🔹⭐ Capitán Amargo 7.2🔹 Pöe 7.4🔹 Perro Andalus 7.5🔹⭐ Bohemia Jazz Café 9.5 Loca de Gandoca 7.5
- Done with tapas bars being "full"? So how about this metal bar with €3.5 pints and €1.8 wines? El Perro Andaluz Pub Perro Andaluz, Granada 🇪🇦 1st visit. Table football. A no f**** given come one come all dive bar. Open and no gatekeepers saying there isn't space. 🍻⚽ 🤘
- Capitán Amargo Craft Beer, Granada 🇪🇦 1st visit. 36 taps so may satisfy tickets but otherwise it's totally run of the mill. I couldn't think of anything positive or negative to say about it. Make of that what you will.
- La Brujidera, Granada 🇪🇦 1st visit. Great reminder to never have a strict itinerary. Always leave room for finds. Walked past, looked great. Is great. Super lil cigar box of a wine bar. Huge selection at fair prices with a tapa. Very popular & good reason. They were accomodating🍷👍
- FYI, central craft beer bar La Madriguera in Málaga 🇪🇦 is permanently closed and looks like it has been for several months at least. In another city not the biggest loss but it played a big part in the city's beer scene.
- Central Beers, Málaga 🇪🇦 2nd visit. Stop-gap craft beer holdout (with some rather last-gen labels on show) but some Spanish craft on tap. One of those "I need to charge my phone" type convenient bars. Not deemed worthy of free snacks apparently. Dougalls DIPA was good 👍🍻
- Taberna Cofrade Las Merchanas, Málaga 🇪🇦 4th visit. Along with bars like Garlochi in Seville and Rincon in Granada, a shrine to Catholic kitsch. A YouTube mix plays Santa Semana marching music all day long with incense burning in the evening. Don't confuse with the adjoining restaurant!🍻👍
- Colmado 93, Málaga 🇪🇦 2nd visit. Tourists tend to go to the two I've been to already. This one is a locals choice for sure. Compact Vermuteria with an interior of character and a place that might feel a little delocating for an outsider, but there's a lot of junk in the trunk🥃👍
