“No one should have to go hungry. Especially not in California, and especially not in the United States.” Our CA Campaigns Director Mónica Lazo spoke with Telemundo 33 in Sacramento this week while advocating alongside the
#ProsperCA Coalition for leaders to expand the Young
#ChildTaxCredit.
Open Enrollment ends today in most states.
That means the GOP has locked millions of working folks into higher bills or forced them to lose healthcare.
They chose tax cuts for insurance CEOs and Big Pharma over ACA tax credits that help working families afford healthcare.
Co-pays. Prescriptions. Expensive medical treatments.
Americans are already paying an arm and a leg for healthcare even WITH insurance.
Eliminating zero-dollar premiums won't fight fraud, but it will hike rates for 11 million Americans.
@democrats.senate.gov shouldn't fall for it.
Nobody should have to consider selling their house to afford healthcare.
But for millions of people like
@repemilyrandall.bsky.social's
constituent, that's the reality without ACA tax credits.
Open enrollment ends in 2 days. The clock is ticking for the Senate to pass a 3-year extension.

Iowa's GOP representatives voted to gut your healthcare so that health insurance CEOs and big Pharma can get a giant tax cut.
Luckily, they can start fixing their mistake today.
Step 1: extend the ACA credits
#HealthcareHeistDue to Congress’ failure to extend the enhanced premium tax credits, millions of Americans like Tori, Charlie, Sydney and Sara are facing skyrocketing premiums and difficult decisions about how they'll be able to afford essential health care.

Republicans cut over $1 trillion from healthcare to give health insurance execs and Big Pharma giant tax cuts.
But the GOP can choose to fight for working families instead of billionaires anytime.
Step 1: Extend the ACA tax credits TODAY.
#healthcareheistRepublicans cut over $1 trillion from healthcare to give their billionaire donors a giant tax cut.
The result? Higher costs, worse care.
Luckily, they've got a chance to start fixing that mistake.
Urge your GOP reps to vote YES on a 3-year extension today!
#healthcareheistRepublicans are talking a big game about affordability lately, but talk is cheap, and healthcare isn't.
And that's because the GOP committed a healthcare heist. But we're not standing for it.

#healthcareheistIt's 2026, and healthcare costs for over 22 million people have officially gone through the roof - all thanks to Republicans.
It's not fair, it's not right, and we're not going to stand for it.

apnews.com/article/affo...Republicans are talking a big game when it comes to "affordability" lately, but they just blew their biggest chance to actually do something about it.
Thanks to the Senate GOP, monthly healthcare bills will double or even triple for millions of people on January 1st.
Alaska lawmakers talk a lot about supporting small business owners.
But it's time to put their money where their mouth is.

www.adn.com/opinions/202...A few weeks ago, Iowans visited Sen. Ernst's office to plead with her to stop the
#healthcareheist.
This summer, Sen. Ernst voted to gut Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act to give billionaires over $1 trillion in tax cuts.
That means higher bills and coverage losses for working Iowans.
Republican healthcare cuts will devastate Iowa soon.
💸 Avg. premiums will nearly TRIPLE next year
🩺 10,000 Iowans won't be able to afford coverage
🏥 18 hospitals are at risk of closing
The worst part? It's all preventable misery.
Republicans are talking about "affordability" a lot more lately. But without action to give Americans some relief from skyrocketing bills, that's just a word.
Republicans could act TODAY to cut costs for working families, boost the economy, and improve public health. So far, they're doing nothing.
Extending ACA tax credits would:
💵 Stop monthly healthcare costs from doubling or even TRIPLING for 22 million people on Jan. 1
🩺 Make sure folks can still see a doctor without going into debt
📈 Save jobs in communities that need them - especially rural ones.
So why aren't Republicans doing it?
We visited Capitol Hill with Lauren, a small business owner, proud Pennsylvanian, and ACA recipient.
Lauren pleaded with her GOP reps to help hardworking Americans like her, and extend ACA tax credits that help her afford healthcare.
They claimed to care. But talk is cheap, and healthcare isn't.
Working folks in Michigan are feeling the pain of America's affordability crisis and a strained health system.
Monique Stanton, President and CEO of @michleague.bsky.social, explains how letting premiums DOUBLE throws more fuel on the fire.

Right now, she pays about $724 a month for insurance. But thanks to Trump and Republicans in Congress, her bill will soon skyrocket to $1267 a month - almost DOUBLE.

Republicans failed to extend Affordable Care Act credits that help over 22 million people get coverage.
Now, those folks are going to (literally) pay the price for the GOP’s choice to prioritize tax cuts for billionaires over public health.
Here's just a few of their stories.

🩺 Janet from IL has a medical implant that costs her $580 a month - in addition her $900/mo insurance premiums and $350/mo supplemental insurance for her husband.
Without ACA tax credits, she can't afford that implant, but she definitely can't afford a $36,000 surgery to take it out either.
