View full threadOkay. Those Anglo Saxons were from a long time ago. If I ever make it to Scotland, I'll keep that in mind. I live close to the border with Mexico. Here we are more likely to call those burns "arroyos." Spanish is an important language here.

- You do very good work. I enjoy your posts. FYI, I'm still working on my Scottish language, hopeless American me. I'm still trying to figure out why you call a stream (water!) a "burn." ?? Does your water catch on fire sometimes? Just curious. 🤔
- Aw thanks!!! I'm not big on travelling so I stay mostly within the U.K. I think "Burn" is from the Anglo Saxons could be wrong or maybe it does catch alight when we aren't looking haha x
- Since I had the day to myself, I spent it in Stirling. My first visit to the Wallace Monument. I walked from Stirling centre 45 mins to the monument then up the hill and finally the 245 steps up to the crown. What a fabulous solo adventure lol
